Taking care of your emotional well-being shouldn’t feel confusing, expensive, or out of reach. That’s why we’re so excited to share a new option that helps make Flourish Plus more affordable—and more accessible—than ever!
This guide walks you through everything you need to know:
how eligibility works, how to get reimbursed, how to involve your clinician, and how to make the process as smooth as possible.
Let’s dive in.
Both HSAs and FSAs are special accounts that let you set aside pre-tax money for qualified health expenses. That means you save money while investing in your mental health.
Here’s the difference:
Both accounts can cover mental-health-related expenses—including apps—when supported by a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
Because Flourish is a well-being and emotional-support app (not a clinical service), HSA/FSA administrators require one simple document:
signed by a licensed clinician (e.g., therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, PCP, NP, PA).
This is the same process used by other mental-wellness apps such as Calm, Headspace, Noom, Talkspace, and similar tools.
If you're already working with a therapist or clinician, the process is straightforward.
Here’s the full process broken down clearly and simply.
We created a ready-to-use Letter of Medical Necessity form that your clinician can complete in just a few minutes.
The form includes all fields typically required by HSA/FSA providers.
Share the LMN with the clinician who supports your care:
If they believe Flourish supports your mental health treatment plan, they can sign the form.
Most clinicians are familiar with LMNs—they’re used for many wellness and mental-health tools.
“My HSA/FSA provider requires a simple Letter of Medical Necessity for mental health apps. I use Flourish to support stress, emotional regulation, and well-being between sessions. Would you be able to review and sign this LMN so I can get reimbursed?”
Your provider will typically ask for:
You can download receipts directly from the App Store / Google Play Store.
Or we can help—just email hello@flouriship.com
Most reimbursements are processed within 1–2 weeks, depending on your provider.
In many cases, yes—you can.
HSA and FSA funds can cover eligible medical expenses for dependents, including children.
The process is the same:
If your child is already in therapy, this is typically very easy to complete.
This is a new option for Flourish members—and your experience matters.
